Description

     If you're reading this then you probably already know the reputation of this album. It is often considered the best Gothic album from an American band. Because of it's limited production, fans from around the world have searched for this as their Holy Grail.

Screams For Tina was formed in Los Angeles by founding members  Marvin Rinnig & Warren Mansfield in 1984. Before forming a band, we thought it would be a good idea to have an album with airplay. Get some name recognition and a fanbase. This album was recorded throughout 1985 at Brett Gurwitz's Westbeach Studios. We released "STROBELIGHT FUNERAL" in 1986 and it was picked up immediately by radio station KXLU.  They would play the whole record on Agent Ava's show. We got the band together and became a regular performer at all the LA clubs: Scream, Helter Skelter, White Trash, Krypt, Roxy, Whiskey, sharing the bill with many other illustrious acts such as Jane's Addiction , Christian Death, X , Human Drama, Caterwaul, Super Heroines, Ex Voto, etc. etc...In 1988 the LA Weekly ran a music poll in which Screams For Tina won "Best New Underground Band" in the popular vote. The LA Weekly wrote, "full bodied and powerful, with interesting melodic changes. They're one of the best bands around for this sort of thing. After seeing them play, I went out and bought the record..."    Music Connection Magazine wrote, "they create unexpected richness with the chords and bass below them, richness that flows and moves the music onward. Infectous...Real imagination and true poetry shine from their sonic depth charges. Also a special tech award to guitarist Marvin for his awesome stereo guitar- it sounds great..."
