Thanks for viewing my sale for a pristine NOS copy of Jean Michel Jarre’s 2nd album, “Equinoxe” on the original Dreyfus label. As of 2004 he has sold an estimated 80 million albums. Interestingly, Jarre held the first concert that attracted more than a million people to a single performance, and since has exceeded that number to several of his blockbuster music and light shows. Back in the day, everytime this album was played in my record store, it sold a couple of copies.
CONDITION: New Old Store Stock (NOS) unplayed 33rpm record in NEW condition, presumed MINT (M); Cover is still in original, importer applied loose shrink-wrap in near perfect MINT MINUS (M-) condition, as seen in actual photo of item. I’ve sold dozens of this LP, and believe this to be my very last copy.
As precusor to Electronica, Jarre pioneered Ambient and the New Age genres. I believe Trance and maybe even EDM were influenced by this virtuoso electronic musician. If you are not familiar with Jarre, it is worth the time to explore his Youtube videos.
Originally Jarre played guitar in a band, but his musical style was perhaps most heavily influenced by Pierre Schaeffer, a pioneer of music concrète at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales. His first mainstream success was the 1976 album Oxygène.
