Description

Up for bid are 7 (BASIC) Seeburg Background Music Records. Labled on the records as Seeburg Basic Music Library, Inc. Records play at 16 2/3 RPM and were played on a Seeburg 1000 machine in the 60's thru the 80's. My dad operated the machines during that time and we would go to the business that housed the machines (we put in) every 3 months and change out a box of these records. The number of records changed at each three-month interval was five (5) in 1963 but was seven according to record boxes issued in 1966 and later. The Basic library consisted of medium tempo music, culled from top 40 hits, show tunes and standards. The arrangements, created just for Seeburg, were nearly all instrumental and featured horns, strings and keyboards.  These records are in good condition but are used. They come in the original box and sleeves. Numbered on one side as BA-102-A-2, BA-106-A-2, BA-110-A-2, BA-114-A-2, BA-118-A-2, BA-122-A-2, and BA-126-A-2 with the reverse side being the B-2 side. Records are noted RR-66. For the April, 1976 sets, the "place in use" dates was replaced by a code: RR-66. This meant "replacement records-set #66" and the number advanced with each subsequent set. As time went on,,the records were sent out less and less on schedule. The last sets were sent out in 1986 and bore the code R-97.  I also have several Seeburg 1000 machines for sale. Great Collectible. Thanks for Looking.
