From my own vast private collection gathered over last 45+ years ...these mostly from 1973 - 1978 I had my own Record Store here in Northern California in the 1970's and 80's -and bringing in wonderfully vibrant and amazing Progressive Rock Imports was a top specialty and priority - I was (still am) so nuts about this music that I had 3 different evolving weekly Radio Programs dedicated to it over 20 years - and loved nothing more than turning folks on to these bands and immersing myself and my audience in these exotic sounds. Now it is finally time for me to pass them on - my hardest LPs to part with, some 8 boxes of which I shall be listing throughout this Spring. Many of the leading progenitors of the 1st progressive era, but quite a few more obscure but no less amazing artists of the period. . *Sadly I am NOT FAST at listing and can am lucky to get around 50 up at a time, but they will keep on coming (as I pause between series, to focus on top level packing and immediate shipping) so keep checking back.
This leads me to the subject of "collecting" purchases for combined shipping with further purchases, which some ask for. VINYL is EX+
Very close to NM with tiny (1/2 cm) scuff line at beginning of side 1 that is inaudible. LP has faint crackle in lead-in groove that disappears entirely before full music volume. Otherwise LP plays extremely clear, clean EX+ to NM throughout. Labels are pristine both sides.

COVER is VG+
soft, fragile matte textured cover is clean and bright with very mild ring wear at top / bottom edges and a bit of color fade at top right corner. Record store sticker below, in same corner. No other wear, creases, writing or soil. No splits.

Sensations' Fix were legendary in their time - even as they were utterly out-of-phase with other Italian Prog music. Quite unique in the italian Prog scene due to their "Krautrock attitude", bearing far more relation to the works of Manuel Gottsching, Ashra, Pinhas and Heldon than to anything actually from Italy at the time or before - and PORTABLE MADNESS is their crowning achievement.
The album is entirely instrumental and shows a strong sense of careful structuring; with superb use of various unique electronic atmospheres among the thunderous synth lines and walls of phased/fuzzed and distorted guitars.
Portable Madness features many strange, enigmatic atmospheres, with hypnotic, haunted and dark pulsing, rolling structures that blend song-to-song into one mindblowing magnum opus ...behind it all the drumming/percussion leaves a huge impression, one minute it's a rumbling avalanche of power, a maddening and aggressive rumble that bears down on the listener, the next it's got an almost tribal percussion sound, constantly building in urgency and drama. Franco Falsini's awesome synthesizer-based atmospheric radiation and ghostly phased guitar fuzz create a continually threatening voltage that only such early 'crude' analog equipment can come up with - sounding just as mind-blowing, inventive and emotionally compelling now, more than 40 years after it's release.
