Overtures From Italian Opera
(HMV ASD 466 UK LP 1962)
This is a UK original Stereo LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large sized "Stereo" on the front. It has its original polythene-lined company "EMI" inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & gold HMV labels. It has 1st press 2YEA 557-1 and 2YEA 558-2 matrix stampers. This is a rare UK 1st Stereo pressing.
Sleeve: There is some light to mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light to very mild fading on the rear. There are some minor stains on the rear too. There is some light ringwear & a mild tear to the rear "spine" flipback too. VG+ condition
Vinyl: There are some mild to more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are 2-3 light hairline marks. The polythene inner has left some light to mild marks on the vinyl. There are some more moderate poly marks on the dead wax too. Good++ condition. The labels are in VG+ condition & show mild spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in Good+ condition. One corner has been cut & there is some mild writing on both sides. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Good+ to VG overall. There is some light, mild or more moderate crackle in the quieter places. This is most noticeable on the first track on both sides. It seems to play better as the sides go on. Nevertheless, this is quite a crackly copy overall, so please bear this in mind when bidding. I believe, however, that it would benefit from a professional clean. It may play much better afterwards.
