1st Pressing Canadian Press, with Red / Silver Philips Labels. "Stereo/Mono" (see description) 1y / 2y matrices (handwritten)

Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)
Sleeve - VG+ Still looks great overall. There is a remainder punch hole top right - which affects the Philips logo. Very moderate wear otherwise - Some marks on back, slight wear/creases to the corners and seams - but the thing still looks very fresh. Hardly any ringwear or discoloration.
Vinyl - VG+ Looks great. A few light scratches and marks, but the important factor is that it has not been played much at all. There is a very light storage warp that doesn't affect play at all. On play, there is hardly any problems bar the odd pop - there is no surface noise or clicking on side 1, and only very light intermittent crackle on side 2. But, but - the record was cut with a fake stereo process with added reverb in the right channel. The result is, a clangy mess when played as normal through a stereo. If you take the Left Channel and and you use a Y cable to pump it to both stereo channels, you get a bearable mono sound. This sort of realisation is the stuff record collectors have to find the hard way...sob, where's my anti-static hanky? ;)
Who Wants This? Gainsbourg LPs before "Je'Taime" sold a bucketload, are hard to find - because despite writing hits for others, his own records sold in relatively tiny amounts, then pretty much limited to the France and Canada. Canadian copies of this album don't turn up very often, and this one is at least in great condition. The record, for the reasons discussed above, isn't an audiophilic wet dream. It possibly would find it's home most comfortably with a collector, but it's enjoyable if not stunning if you follow my instructions.

- I remove records from their outer sleeves to avoid splitting. All records are packed in a plastic sleeve for extra protection.
