Complete set of 3 Columbia 12 inch, single sided Radio Transcription records, featuring Paul Tremaine & His Orchestra.
This is Program No. 6, In Three Parts (A,B and C)
All 3 records are heavy, single side, laminated Columbia pressings, and are in "near mint" condition. NOTE: record 91956 has a small edge nick that does not reach the grooves and does not affect play. These are original 78rpm issues for radio station use from around 1929-1930.
Each record has a orchestra with vocal chorus song and the announcer plugging the Columbia Tele-Focal radio receiver,
Part A, Record 91955 starts with announcer saying "this program features Paul Tremaine and his Orchestra, well known radio and exclusive Columbia recording artists, who have made a nation wide reputation for their modern arrangements of negro spirituals". Followed by a real hot version of Gospel Train with some great solos. The announdcr then plugs the Columbia Tele-Focal radio receiver, saying "the Tele-Focal with it's single tube automatic volume control, cuts through loud local stations with precision, to bring in suprising programs from far distant points".
Part B, Record 91956. The announcer introduces Paul Tremaine and his Ochestra and guest artist Roy Evans, followed by a great bluesy version of "I Lost My Gal From Memphis". The record ends with the ad "Over 75 million dollars are being spent this year to give you radio entertainment. Doesn't it seem you owe it to yourself and your family to get the greatest enjoyment of all these fine programs? There is one sure way. Columbia Tele-Focal radio...".
Part C, Record 91957. Announcer introduces Paul Tremaine and his Orchestra with Paul Tremaine vocals, of a great upbeat jazzy version of the spiritual "Is There A Place Up There For Me". Record and program end with some final plugs for the Tele-Focal radio "it pulls in stations from every notch on the dial" and "If you enjoyed this program by Paul Tremaine and his Orchestra, listen for other programs sponsored by the Columbia Phonograph Company..."
