Description
This lot contains seven 10-inch 78 RPM records, all in the adult humor genre - or at least a little risque and filled with double entendre. Only the first five showed up for the group shot. In the order shown in the pictures, left to right, those five are:
Pearl # 61 -- "Golfin Papa" and "Mr. Wong No Two" by the Pearl Five.
Pearl # 61 -- "I Kissed Her But (I Never Will Again)" and "Balls, Banquets and Parties" (uncredited).
Cocktail Party Songs # 202 -- "Automobile Song" and "Shaving Cream" by Paul Wynn.
Risque # 3 -- "It's All Yours" and "Giving It to Baby" (uncredited).
Risque # 5 -- "Looking for Lei" and "The Pick Up" (uncredited).
The other two showed up late (typical for party records), so they had to be shown separately in the last two pictures. Only one side of each record fits the "adult humor" category, the other sides not so much. Left to right, they are:
Top Hat # 1004 -- "She Tried It Last Night" by John Ryan; and "Casey Jones" by the Railroad Men.
De Luxe # 1070 -- "I Wonder, I Wonder. I Wonder" by Ted Martin and the Airlane Trio; and "The Freckle Song" by the Airlane Trio.
They all look like they use a good cleaning, but are otherwise still nice and shiny, with some surface scuffs and scratches, and a hairline crack across the Cocktail Party Songs record. I played all seven records on my Audio-Technica turntable, and there were no skips or jumps, but varying levels of background hiss, including some scattered clicks and pops and ticking (including ticking through the aforementioned crack). Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment. Please also check the pictures for inscriptions or stickers on the labels.
