This lot contains seven 10-inch 78 RPM records, all in the jazz genre, and all on the Victor label. All are also instrumental except where vocalists are mentioned (in parentheses) below. At least one side of each record, by the way, is considered "hot" enough for inclusion in Brian Rust's iconic Hot Jazz Discography, so relevant discographic information is also provided (also in parentheses).

All seven records showed up for the first picture, then they are shown in smaller groups, both sides, in the following order:

Victor # 18618 - "Tulip Time" and "Yellow Dog Blues" by Joseph C. Smith's Orchestra. (The latter is this band's only entry in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of October 1, 1919.)

Victor # 19212 - "Covered Wagon Days" and "Somebody Stole My Gal" by Ted Weems and his Orchestra. (These are this band's first two entries in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of November 20, 1923.)

Victor # 26662 - "The Bride Comes Home" and "Workout" by Hal Kemp and his Orchestra (vocal on the former by Bob Allen). (Only the latter is listed in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of May 11, 1940.)

Victor # 25754 - "Parade of the Bands, Parts 1 and 2" by Richard Himber and his Essex House Orchestra. (Both sides listed in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of December 17, 1937.)

Victor # 20491 - "If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies" by B. F. Goodrich Silvertown Cord Orchestra (vocal by the Silver Masked Tenor); and "A Lane in Spain" by Jean Goldkette and his Orchestra (with "vocal chorus" identified in Rust as "The Revelers"). (Only the latter is listed in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of February 3, 1927, and a line-up that includes jazz legends Bix Beiderbecke and Eddie Lang.)

Victor # 25363 - "There's a Small Hotel" by Benny Goodman and his Orchestra (vocal by Helen Ward); and "That's A Plenty" by Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra. (Both sides are listed in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of June 16, 1936, for the former, and June 9, 1936, for the latter.)

Victor # 22073 - "Waiting at the End of the Road" by the All Star Orchestra (vocal refrain by the Melody Three); and "My Song of the Nile" by the Troubadours (vocal by Burt Lorin). (Only the former is listed in the Rust Discography, with a recording date of July 30, 1929.)

All seven records fall within the VG to VG+ range, in terms of condition, still relatively shiny but with varying degrees of visible surface wear. They play through with no skips or jumps on my Audio-Technica turntable, and mostly just typical light background noise, but with some scattered clicks or pops or ticking. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment. Please also check the pictures for any label damage or inscriptions or stickers.
