Originally released on A&M Records in queen Elizabeth II's silver jubillee year 1977, the backlash to the controversial Sex Pistols single "God Save The Queen" (before it had even been released), was enough to see the label ditch the band and destroy almost all copies (it is believed that only 9 copies exist).
Virgin Records came to the rescue and promptly released the single in the iconic picture sleeve designed by Jamie Reid, featuring the queen's image defaced with "blackmail" style type of the band's name and the song title. It was promptly banned from radio and television airplay by both the BBC and the Independent Broadcasting Authority. Several major retailers refused to stock the record. This didn't prevent the single selling in massive quantities and unofficially reaching number one in the UK single charts, a fact acknowledged by the BBC in 2001.
Now, to celebrate the queen's platinum jubilee, the single is to be reissued on May 27th 2022, 45 years to the day since its original release date. It will be a limited edition of just 4000 copies in transparent blue vinyl, with replica sleeve and label artwork, and with the original B-Side track, "Did You No Wrong". Needless to say, it completely sold out in minutes.

There are several reasons why delays occur, from raw material (vinyl) shortages, to pressing plant backlogs, to logistics issues. This is outside of my control. But I will make you aware of any delays to the release date as soon as I become aware of them.
Postage All records come shipped in a reinforced cardboard record mailer. All shipping is at UK Royal Mail rates. Larger items, such as boxsets, may be shipped using Parcelforce (or other courier service) due to Royal Mail weight restrictions. All shipping prices include insurance for the full value of the item. Multi-purchase discounts available.
