An absolute holy grail for punk rock historians and serious vinyl completionists. This is an authentic, 100% verified 1977 UK first-year pressing run—NOT a reissue, NOT a later flat repress.
Proven by the hand-etched original matrix numbers "V 2086 A5" on Side One and "V 2086 B6" on Side Two (CBS Pressing Plant, Aston Clinton), original Red/Green twin-girl labels, and the unmistakable deep center circular dipped indentation rings.
THE COLLECTOR'S VARIANT DETAIL:
This copy features the rare, highly sought-after initial printing error on Side Two. Track 6 ("E.M.I.") incorrectly credits Sid Vicious as a co-writer on the label text: "*6. E.M.I. (Jones, Cook, Rotten, Vicious)" and allocates the asterisk copyright to him below. Virgin quickly caught this legal error and corrected later runs, leaving this first batch highly collectible!

An exceptional survivor that has preserved its vivid color profiles beautifully. The yellow front and pink reverse panels remain vibrant and entirely free of circular ring-wear color loss. The spine is completely solid, flat, and structurally whole, displaying only standard cosmetic shelf-chafing along the outer edges. Mouth entry remains sharp and un-feathered. Corners are firm with minor vintage storage softening.
