Shadrack "Chameleon" LP
Original IGL pressing still in original shrinkwrap
Hi folks... this is a copy of Shadrack's "Chameleon" album from 1974. Shadrack was a great rural psychedelic band from Iowa, although they had quite a folk influence to their music as well. This album was pressed by Iowa label IGL, and most reports state that there were only 250 copies made. There have been reissues of this album over the years, but the originals are quite rare.
Although I am not the first owner of this record, I've done some research on this to determine its authenticity. All originals have a front cover slick that wraps around the cover and tucks underneath the back cover slick, and that is the case here. Also, I bought this from someone in central Iowa over ten years ago, and he confirmed that he had this record in his collection since the 70s.
Now the bad news: although this record is still sealed, the far left side of the front cover (towards the top) has some slight damage. There are a couple of indentations about 1/2" long just to the left of the word "Shadrack". These actually did tear the cardboard slightly and one of them cracked the shrinkwrap. The corners are also not terribly sharp, although it's about average for a 35 year old record. Other than these defects, the shrinkwrap is still intact and in great shape.
