Description
Prestige Bluesville 1008, “Good Times” with Shakey Jake, vocals and harmonica; Bill Jennings, guitar; Jack McDuff, organ; from 1960. Original DG vinyl is glossy and free of marks other than a few sleeve scuffs; it plays at NM, though a tiny bit of static may be audible up close between some tracks. The heavy laminated jacket is almost like new with solid seams all around; corners are square and there is no ringwear or rubwear; the jacket back is extremely clean with no writing and just one tiny factory inspection stamp. This jazz-flavored R&B set includes “Worried Blues”, “My Foolish Heart”, “Sunset Blues”, “You Spoiled Your Baby”, “Tear Drops”, “Just Shakey”, “Jake’s Blues”, “Still Your Fool”, “Keep A-Lovin’ Me Baby”, “Call Me When You Need Me”, “Huffin’ and Puffin’”, and “Good Times”. This is one of a set of original Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this week on eBay. Most are original DG copies in remarkable condition, and many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
