Description
'Second Contribution' is widely considered to be Shawn Phillips' masterpiece. There isn't a weak song on the entire album. Released in 1970 on A & M Records, it quickly became a huge hit for the enormously talented Texas musician. Of course, as with any great album there are many other people who are responsable for its success. In this case it's Paul Buckmaster, who was in charge of the Orchestral Arrangements for the album...a stunning achievement. The copy I'm offering is the very rare, 1st U.S White Label Promo pressing released in 1970. It sounds SUPERB! Among the best sounding copies of this album I've ever heard. This particular pressing rarely comes up for sale so grab it while you can.
As a bonus, buyer will receive an acetate print of the original A & M promo photo that was issued to radio stations with this album in 1970.
Condition of Lp Jacket: Near Mint(minus) ...this being a promo copy, naturally, one can excpect to see a perfectly clean hole punch to the upper right portion of the cover. Aside from that, only the faintest wear to the corners and a bit of "sunning" to the spine. A solid, thick gatefold cover.
Condition of Record: Near Mint....minimal surface noise with no significant issues; this record is nearly flawless...You will NOT find a better pressing of this rare promo Lp anywhere.
