Description
For sale is a copy of the quite rare first album by the great folk singer Shirley Collins on the American Folkways label, False True Lovers, originally released in 1959.
Condition: The vinyl itself is in VG+ condition, with a touch of dust (that could be easily cleaned off) but with only small mark (on side A) that I would describe as particularly salient. It plays beautifully. The sleeve is also in VG+ condition. It is tight and clean, only very slightly faded, and would be in EX condition save for two flaws: (1) there is a hole punched through the sleeve in the lower right corner (visible in photo), indicating this was once a cut-out LP; (2) there's a faint bit of non-sticky but visible sticker residue in the upper-right corner (also should be visible in photo). Note that this LP does come with the original liner-note booklet (see photo). Overall this is a lovely copy IMO. Again, note that this is the original Folkways release and not a reissue.

Shirley Elizabeth Collins delivers these traditional British love songs in her feathery soprano voice. She is accompanied by John Hasted, Ralph Rinzler and Guy Carawan on the guitar and five-string banjo.

This item comes from a non-smoking home. I'm not a store; I just sell a few LPs a year to keep my shelves open for new stuff. :)
