Description
I recently acquired a huge collection of LPs from the wife of a longtime audiophile. The good doctor bought up literally everything he could, beginning in the late 1950s and continuing until his death this past June. He was meticulous about the kind of music he bought and about keeping his possessions nice and clean. His records he would listen to just once while recording them to open reel tape. The records would then be shelved and not played again. Most of the records which I am offering from this collection are high grade vinyl in mid-to-high grade jackets; each of the individual auctions I am grading one-on-one, as you will see below. Shirley Horn, Hi-Life HL 55 (mono), "Embers And Ashes ~ Songs Of Lost Love Sung by Shirley Horn." Original pressing in true mono. A couple of budget labels, such as the so-called 'Stereocraft' label, reissued this album with an inferior fake stereo that sounds like utter garbage. Don't be fooled... this auction is for the only authentic monaural mix available.
Disc and jacket both look practically perfect, grade VG++ with just a few light paper scuffs. This is NOT a cut-out LP, there are absolutely no cut corners, saw marks, or drill holes!
