The Ormandy Era, an official collection of the Philadelphia Orchestra Association, commemorates the great Eugene Ormandy's 44 years with the Philadelphia Orchestra.  If you love vinyl and the classics, this seldom seen collection will be a perfect addition to your collection.  It covers the greatest performances conducted by Ormandy in an incredible set of 30 LP's pressed in red virgin vinyl by the Franklin Mint Record Society.

The collection contains 6 hard-cover slip cases, each with 5 LP's and literature describing the music and performances.  An accompanying booklet recalling his career was signed personally by Eugene Ormandy in 1979, just prior to retirement.  The cover page reads:  "This collection brings together the most memorable recordings made by the Philadelphia Orchestra during the past four decades.  It has been my distinct privilege to have been associated with this great orchestra throughout all those years.  As you listen to these recorded performances, you will in a sense relive many of the finest moments of the Philadelphia Orchestra in this important period in its history.  I trust that these recordings, which are my personal favorites, will bring to you and your family many years of pleasure and happiness."

Most of the 30 records are in pristine condition, though a few have some light scratching (from manufacture).  Slip cases are in excellent condition.
