Autographed (on the back) Simon and Garfunkel Wednesday Morning, 3 AM
Rare Mono. 1965. According to my research this is the second version released.
How I found this: I was buying a Parasound amp from a local audiophile. I noticed a couple feet
of records, but no turntable. He sold me the lot of records. He said he was a concert promoter
back in the day, and started dropping names. He looked about the right age, and seemed to have
plenty of money. Hidden among the records (1/3rd of which were never even opened) was this gem.
I tell you all of this because i have no way of knowing if the signatures are authentic, but
the story fits.
Art’s signature is followed by ‘Sorry Paul isn’t here’. But I guess they found him later because Paul
signed it in the lower right corner.
These do appear to be early signatures, back when they still wanted to be legible.
The record is in OK condition, maybe VG? I’m not a grader. I did have it washed with a professional Nitty Gritty machine. Then I played it all the way through with a Ortofon Blue cart/stylus. Lots of audible pops, but no skips. Original owern's signature on one side of label and on front cover.
