Description

Up for grabs is a collectors quality copy of Simon & Garfunkel's early 1966 album The Sound Of Silence in Mono (CL 2469)
This is the hard to find mono version with the original cover and back artwork.  Chances of an official release of this classic folk rock LP in mono is slim and none as reportedly Paul Simon is not a fan of the mono mixes on any of the Simon & Garfunkel albums. This is your chance to get an excellent mono copy of this album.
The jacket is in very good plus condition with a tight spine and no rips tears or blemishes.  Back photo has the original un-airbrushed photo of Art with Tiger Beat magazine.
The Vinyl is in excellent condition with just a few superficial hairline scratches caused by sleeve wear visible under sunlight or desk light.  Was test played and is very quiet with no pops or clicks and minimal surface noise between tracks.
Does not have the original Columbia plastic circular inner sleeve.
First US mono release.
"Simon & Garfunkel" in white lettering. "Sounds of Silence" in blue on one line underneath.
No song listing on front cover and song listing does NOT appear in the box at bottom of back cover.
Tiger Beat magazine logo visible in photos on back cover (airbrushed out of most later issues).
Track A6, "Angie," is spelled correctly on cover and label. It is correctly credited to B. Jansch on the label, but incorrectly on the back cover to Davy Graham  Red Columbia label with white "360 Sound" lettering. 1C/1C in dead wax
