Description

Simon & Garfunkel - Sounds Of Silence - True 1st Pressing STEREO. The label is clean and beautiful with no scratches. The vinyl has no scratches or scuffs and plays beautifully with the slightest surface noise and no crackle or rash. The cover has no tears or ring-wear.
Genuine 1st pressing indicators:

  • Upper left cover shows STEREO CS 9269 in oval
  • Front cover title text is in blue, later the color was changed to green 
  • There are no song titles listed on the front on the original cover, later the titles were put on the front
  • There is no "Paul" or "Art" identifiers on the rear cover in the individual photos
  • The Teen Beat magazine in Art's hand on the back cover was air-brushed out on later pressings in both pictures
  • The lower rectangle on the back cover is blank, on later releases the song titles appear here
  • The song "Angie" is supposed to be spelled "Anji" and was corrected later
  • The song "Angie" (Anji) writing credit is incorrect on the rear cover to Davy Graham, but correctly credited on the label to B. Jansch
  • NONBREAKABLE text on the label was eliminated by Columbia starting 1967
  • MASTERWORKS on the label rim text was only used for a very short period Dec. 1965 / Jan. 1966. and only on Stereo recordings.
