Description
We are making changes and freshening up our listings as our discs dwindle down to a precious few, but the great old vinyl you have loved and purchased here will remain the same high quality for the coming months. Truth is nothing lasts forever and sealed, mint or never played vinyl product from the sixties, seventies and eighties is disappearing fast and when it’s gone, it’s gone. Rising packaging cost and ever changing new regulations from eBay really make this whole process a labor of love and often a non profit one at that. All of that is now complicated by a new breed of unscrupulous buyer, few yes, but never the less an annoying cost of doing business here. So considering the above we are now requiring clients who win our vinyl auctions to add insurance to tracking on the USPS shipping requirements. We are going to cover those costs, but the buyer will have to pay two dollars in addition to actual USPS First Class or Priority charges to cover the cost of our mailer and pads. If the buyer chooses to protect their purchase further they can request alternate shipping or additional protection. From 1965 we have for a no reserve auction a rare, never or lightly played, white label promotional copy of Simon & Garfunkel’s, Columbia Records release “The Sounds Of Silence” 3:05, catalogue # 43396. Vinyl on this disc is a bright red, perfect “Not For Resale”, “Radio Station Copy” white labels in black, not red ink. As a true “for radio” promo, both sides of the disc have the same title but not the same recording. One side has the as originally recorded acoustic version while the other side has the later over dubbed electrical instrument additions. Sleeve is a “greenstock” radio station library type. This is a mint disc that has spent its whole life not only in the heavy kraft sleeve, but a heavy vinyl covering as well.
