Description
READ DESCRIPTION:
Original MONO press of this masterpiece. Sleeve is in very nice shape graded VG+ with only very minor ringwear and a tiny bit of wear on one corner. Back cover is rock solid.
The disc is rough looking and showing lots of handling marks, paper marks and a couple deeper scratches - but I have PLAY TESTED it several times on my reference system and there are NO SKIPS. Your results may vary depending on your setup but none for me, I am happy to send video clips via DM.
Side 1 has significant surface noise for about half of the first song then it settles down a bit. Still lots of clicks and pops but the mix on this LP is loud so it plays surprisingly well. The final track “Bookends” on the first side plays beautifully with much less noise than the previous songs. This is my favorite song on the record.
Side 2 plays quieter than side 1, and while still having lots of clicks and pops and surface noise it’s not too bad. No skips on this side either.
For information purposes, my cartridge is an Audio Technica AT33/PTGII cartridge and despite the surface noise I did not experience any skips.
