Description
This is a early pressing of "Bookends" by Simon and Garfunkel from 1968. The LP was issued in April of 1968, the same as the single "Mrs' Robinson." The first copies did not have the "Robinson" hype sticker since the 45 was issued later in late April after the initial first run of the album's release. This copy also has the original price sticker from White Front Department Store. For those of us old enough to remember, White Front was the place to go to find the best price on records. They closed in 1974.
For some reason, this promo copy was issued with two posters instead of just one. On the back cover in the upper left corner, you can clearly see the "Not for Sale" white promo sticker in the upper left corner.
The shrink-wrapped cover is quite nice with no seam splits, no wear ring, and nice spine. The hype sticker promoting the inclusion of the poster is torn in the middle of the sticker. The cover is graded at near mint 8 out of 10.
Using a 100 watt bulb to grade by, the beautiful vinyl is a shiny near mint 9 and 8/9 out of 10. I played this album through and the sound quality is clear and crisp and quiet in the background even between tracks.
