Description
Here is your chance to bid for this rare version of an underrated classic. Presented, is a fine example of the mono mix of this album. There are significant differences between this and the more common stereo version; in particular, the songs: 'Save the life of my child' the background singing is different, and 'Punky's dilema' which has more phasing on the acoustic guitar.
The sleeve is laminated unlike later copies and is in v good condition, the original inner sleeve I would class as reasonable as it is creased and slightly split on one edge. The vinyl itself is almost flawless, apart from a couple of 'pops' at the start of track 1and feint hairline scuffs due to removal from the inner sleeve. I would rate the overall condition as being excellent to nearly mint - aside from the slight defects already mentioned. A1/B2 matrix.
As Paul Simon has gone on record (no pun intended) as stating his preference for the stereo mixes and dissatisfaction with the mono mixes of the early Simon and Garfunkel records, it is unlikely that this particular mix will be re-released in Simon's lifetime.
