Simon and Garfunkel RED VINYL PROMO The Sounds of Silence 45 with ALTERNATE MONO MIX FROM 1965

Nearly impossible to find promo 45.  One side is the commercially released version that we all know and love.  The other side is a different mix of the same version, but with the entire band mixed out, except for their vocals and Paul’s acoustic guitar playing.  This mix is absolutely not the same as the third alternate version found on the soundtrack of The Graduate.  That version was in fact, a completely different take, with a different performance of the song, as well as different vocals.  This version sounds very much to me like the basic track of this song before the bass, drums and electric guitars were overdubbed.  I have listened to this mix with recording studio quality headphones, and I cannot hear ANY bleed-through from the other instruments having been mixed out.  To my knowledge, this mix has not appeared anywhere else except for on this promo, which went to radio stations, and was not released to the public.

Vinyl---With the exception of a few near-imperceptible light and short hairlines in the lip of one side of the record, which don’t go into the grooves, this copy is in a stunning near mint condition.  Playback is near mint.  There is black ballpoint on both labels from the radio station.

Sleeve---Comes with the Columbia company sleeve that is in completely solid condition.  No splits to the seams, no fraying.  Some wrinkling.
