Description
SIR CHARLES THOMPSON AND HIS ALL STARS, Apollo LAP-103.
This very rare 1951 release contains 8 tracks recorded in 1945 & 1947. The musicians are Buck Clayton, Joe Newman (trumpet), Charlie Parker (alto sax), Dexter Gordon, Bob Dorsey (tenor sax), Leo Parker (baritone sax), Sir Charles Thompson (piano), Danny Barker, Freddie Green (guitar), Jimmy Butts, John Simmons (bass), J. C. Heard, Shadow Wilson (drums). The tunes are Takin' Off, The Street Beat, Rhythm Itch, Mad Lad, Strange Hour, Tunis In, 20th Century Blues, If I Had You.
Condition of record is E-, no scuffs, no scratches, a few spindle marks, plays very well for a 10 inch LP. Jacket shows some overall wear, 1 inch tape repairs at top and bottom of spine.

E = Excellent. Some evidence of having been played, with no audible defect.
V = Very Good. Noticeable wear, visual and audible. Records with slight surface noise and/or scuffs fall into this category.
G = Good. Not really all that good. Records in this category have more significant damage or wear.
F = More severe damage, distracting surface noise. Only used in incidence of extreme rarity.
P = Poor condition, proves existence of record only.
