Description
It's always a problem grading these lovely old SKA records.
They went to lots of parties.
That means that they're a bit battered and that's why many have names written on the label.
HOWEVER... they're usually cut VERY LOUD and though they look a bit rough, they sound OK (especially if you press the "Mono" button).
This means that a 60's Ska goodie can be perfectly acceptable, even if it looks R.A.A.B.B. (Rough As A Bear's Bottom)..
Please “bear” that in mind when reading my descriptions.
Here we have “Rudie Bam Bam” and “Be Bop Boy” by The Clarendonians.
This 45rpm record, on the always-interesting “RIO” label was pressed in 1966 and the number is R112 A/B.
It’s a Coxsone Dodd Studio One production, and (unless I’m very much mistaken, and I often am) appeared on one of the legendary “Club Ska” LPs back in the days when I could put my socks on in less than ten minutes.
It’s a perfectly preserved disc in magnificent condition, and it plays amazingly well.
Using the “Record Collector” magazine’s yardstick, I reckon it’s an E or thereabouts, with a following wind.
You’ll never find a cleaner copy.
This one shines like the sleeve of a sniffly child, and is as clean as your house is when your mum comes to visit.
It actually almost looks “as new” but I know that record nerds frown on such sweeping statements, so I’ll just state that it really is remarkably germ-free and unsullied.
Bid now before the Artificial Intelligence bots take over and misery stalks the land.
