SLIM HARPO - HE KNEW THE BLUES... UK 1ST PRESS BLUE HORIZON RECORDS
CAT. NO. 7-63854 STEREO
Year: 1970 UK 1ST ISSUECondition: Cover is VG+, Vinyl is EX or better (Closer to NM).
On offer is a very nice and highly sought after 1st (and only) UK pressing of Slim Harpo's 'He Knew the Blues', released in the UK in 1970 as part of the Post-War Masters series on the Blue Horizon label. This is a great blues album and a tough release to find on the label. It comes from our own blues collection and has been rarely played, treasured and well cared for.
The vinyl is graded Excellent or better and is very clean and shiny, played a couple of times only.
The thin matt sleeve is graded VG+ considering the fragile nature of its construction, it is bright and clean but with a crease down the left side of the front and corner wear. The reverse is clean and bright but wth some creasing. The spine is pretty solid and all text is clear and legible. All told it is still a decent example, no rips, splits or writing. (see pics)
Blue on light blue Stereo Labels are Excellent and clean with light spindle marks.
Promotional CBS printed inner sleeve is Excellent with some light ageing.
