Decca labels nr MINT condition, displaying only the faintest spindle trace .Heart of the vinyl confirms a light playing history, estimated at 4-5 plays max !!!Beautiful condition and very rare to find .This album is very hard to find, owing to its low number sales and only attained a low chart status, compared to all their other albums, hence its apparent rarity. Hardly ever located especially in this nr mint- condition.Pure investment quality!
VINYL surfaces absolutely stunning , reflecting a glorious high gloss and a mirror like sheen, very similar to mint vinyl. Against ordinary light, a stylus mark visible on S1 and on S2 three stylus marks visible. Under an unforgiving halogen, one can observe the slightest sleeve removal marks/hairlines , which disappear beneath the vinyl’s polished surface. Nr Mint- visual and almost museum quality. Thick cut, heavyweight monster slab in remarkable format and is possibly the best in existence today.
Audio
Any light surface mark which is visible , is non sounding and the channels are very clear, projecting the most wonderful tonal execution. There is no distortion, so commonly found against these vintage classics. The monotone delivery is heard with a profound depth of sound and a razor sharp edge. Plays near perfect for most of play. There is some low level static, sometimes alluded as “Blues man’s fag”, which is heard between tracks but during play, the music is delivered in sensational style. Will not get much better than this delivery! At least excellent aural delivery. Strict grading applies, as per the RRPG UK catalogue.
Album sleeve/Cover
Very hard to locate in any decent condition. This cover is the very first Clout & Baker issue with laminated front.There is a tiny nick on opening edge and a laminate bubble from a corner crease. Slight corner wear visible.No major rips ,nor tears and the edge wear is very minimal.Spinal column is excellent, clearly showing title.No hand writing or serious damage. VG+ condition.
INNER SLEEVE
Plain white ,polylined inner with the playing/care text in blue print. Quite clean with no damage. Excellent condition.
An absolutely, remarkable example, of one of the most difficult, Small Faces albums to locate. Magnificent, archive for the keen collector, and possibly one of the finest examples that you are ever likely to come across.
