Description
Another one from my private collection, bought on release and kept ever since. This will have been played a few times back in the day, but probably not much in the last 40 years and not at all in the last 25 as my system has not really been used in that time. This is the original mono version in the famous circular sleeve, upon which I've no doubt a real baccy tin may have temporarily rested on occasion. I'll say no more about that.
The record itself is in fabulous condition. I have always handled and played my records very carefully, and used good quality turntables and cartridges. The vinyl is clean and bright. There are maybe four or five tiny hairline marks, but these are barely visible and not audible. I have played the album before listing, and there is just about some barely audible background noise on the run-in, but no other discernible noise throughout the replay. It might benefit from a proper vacuum cleaning as what little background noise exists is likely just dust related (rather than damage), but it is more than acceptable as it is. It has the lilac labels, and the runout matrix numbers are correct (IMLP 012-1L and IMLP 012-2L)
The original clear plastic circular inner sleeve is present, a little creased but complete and usable, but the record has been stored in a normal square Goldring anti-static sleeve (included).
The fold-out circular sleeve is complete and whole. A pretty insane piece of design, as all the hinges/folds are just made up from about an inch of connection between the circles, but it has survived intact. I have always stored the thing in a normal heavy duty vinyl cover (see the last picture above) so the sleeve is pretty much in original condition. Which is not bad going for coming up on 54 years old.
A very nice and original copy of an original album that is both a great piece of music and a wonderful '60s artefact.
