Description
Description: This is an RIAA Platinum Record award recognizing Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream album. It is HUGE, much bigger than an average award with a very unique design. Hung properly in a diamond shape, it measures 41 1/2" x 41 1/2". The moulding sides measure 31 3/4" x 31 3/4". It is made with plexi glass which lightens the load a bit, though the sheer size of the award makes it very heavy. A regular award is usually ~14x17 or the like. This is nearly the size of 2 regular awards, and takes up the wall space of 4 regular awards. It is presented to a retail award manufacturer, certified by the RIAA. Slight Damages: There is one small tear in the paper backing (which is easily replaceable, or easily ignorable), and one small ( 1/2 cm, or 5mm ) chip in the moulding, which has been touched up. The corners show regular wear and tear associated with storing & shipping artwork over years, and have been touched up as well. In other words, no one will ever know these things unless you point it out to them.
The plaque reads: 'To commemorate RIAA certified sale of more than 4,000,000 copies of the Virgin Records America, inc. Album, Compact Disc, and Casette "Siamese Dream"'
Random Info You Want To Know: This Award is a piece of framed artwork, weighing over 20 pounds with glass, and falls under the 'oversize package' categories for both USPS and UPS (which demands extra oversize fee). Due to the uniqueness and fragility of the award, and the independability of shipping companies, shipping insurance & oversize fee is included in the cost. I cannot accept returns due to the steep eBay, PayPal and shipping fees, so please be sure you really want the item. I am available to answer any and all questions-Just ask.
