Description

Original first pressing 7-inch single of the Smiths' "Hand in Glove" on Rough Trade label.  (I worked in an alternative record store in the 1980s, and would order stuff that I read about in the NME, and ordered a few of these based on the write-up--this is the one I bought for myself).  The reverse of the sleeve has "Endless Gratitude to Joe and Janet" / "Sleeve by The Smiths" / Manchester contact adress" and the record label is solid centre with Glad Hips music; Rough Trade logo on top.  The control number "RT 131 A1 / RT 131 B1" is incised in the run-off, which indicates that this is one of the fist pressing of 6000.  Record is mint minus (I played it two or three times, then recorded it--the white marks in the scans below are marks on the surface of my flatbed scanner);  cover is very good minus (a couple of edge crimps).  Look for other punk/new wave/oddball records I am clearing out after getting into the storage locker after Christmas!  Check out my other items!
