Description
Smokey Warren and his Famous Mountain Dew Boys, with Dottie Mae/Yea! Smokey/Yale Records Y-1000(PRIVATE PRESSING!) (circa 1960s). Hillbilly Country. Vintage 1960s era PRIVATE PRESSING LP in jacket with white inner sleeve. This record was made to be sold at live shows so they could be autographed by Smokey himself as a souvenir of the show. This one is personally signed by Smokey, and inscribed to Ernie "To my good buddy Ernie, thanks loads for everything. Smokey Warren" (shown in a picture in this listing-and I know the back story of this record-the Ernie, in this case, was a disc jockey at a small, country radio station who played some Smokey Warren records on the air) VG+ for LP, spot-test play-graded, plays well. VG for jacket, has the inscription on the front, as shown. Top and bottom seam each have center splits about 3 inches. The spine has a two inch crack but it has not split or peeled. This LP is rare due to limited pressings and do it yourself distribution. No documentation as to how many copies were made...probably a few hundred to as many as a thousand or so. Recording quality and quality of the pressing are surprisingly good for a home grown LP. It's not a major label LP, but it sounds very good. LP shipped outside jacket in cardboard shipper with plastic sleeve and backers to protect the item during transit.
