Description
Here we offer a simply AMAZING record...a very respectable & sound VG- to VG ORIGINAL PRESSING Atlantic 971 45 RPM 7" by Soldier Boy Houston featuring "Western Rider Blues" b/w "Hug Me Baby"! This is one of THE scarcest Atlantic blues singles, and the music (as you must know) is SUPERB! This is 100% ORIGINAL, with AT in the run off on BOTH sides, as well as a machine stamped letter A. 45-A-452-1 is etched in the run off on the "Western Rider Blues" side, and 45-A-453 on the "Hug Me Baby" side (the dashes are actually more like dots on the "Hug Me..." side). NOT a repro or reissue...the real deal! In solid & quite shiny/glossy VG- to VG (very good range FOR SURE) overall condition, with clear, upfront sound on BOTH sides. The "Western Rider Blues" side has 3 or 4 light rubs, some occasional tiny to very small marks, some very light partial groove wear and some occasional very fine, slight to light, mostly quite superficial hairline marks/"scratches" (again, NOTHING is deep or serious...superficial-surfacey). As noted, the music is up front & very clear, with some occasional slight background noise, and some very occasional very light ticks, a bit at the beginning & perhaps 5 or 6 at the end. We are VERY fussy graders...and we are being VERY picky! The "Hug Me Baby" side play grades perhaps a bit better than VG, again with VERY clear, up-front sound with occasional very slight to slight backround noise here and there. It has some occasional very light partial groove wear, and a variety of occasional slight, mostly tiny to quite small, fine, superficial marks...nothing very serious or deep to note. The labels are quite bright and overall clean, with slight partial ringwear to the "Western Rider..." side, as well as a vintage number sticker, and a piece of white tape with initials in red ink that MAY be removable, but that will be up to the buyer! The "Hug Me..." label has just slight partial ringwear at left, and a tiny surface tear in the A of Atlantic at left. We have played this twice, and it should be a welcome addition to any serious blues collection...we are conservative graders...please don't let our detailed description put you off! Check our photos...the very decent original gloss can be seen! By the way, this comes in a vintage Atlantic company paper sleeve, which does have a small tear.
