Description
"Solid Gold Country" was a long-running US radio country music programme ,produced by the United Stations Programming Network , This album covers a show broadcast on the 24th. of February ,1989 ,called "Johnny Cash Birthday Salute" . In between playing Johnny Cash records there are brief interviews with Carl Perkins , June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash himself . The records played during the programme are: "Folsom Prison Blues" , "A Boy Named Sue" , "Daddy Sang Bass" ,"I Walk The Line" , "Ballad Of Ira Hayes" , "Tennessee flat Top Box" , "Hold On" [Rosanne Cash] , "Ring Of Fire" , "If I Were A Carpenter" , "One Piece At A Time" ,"There Ain't No Good Chain Gang" [with Waylon Jennings] , "Sunday Morning Coming Down" and as part of The Highwaymen , "Highwayman" . There is a stop on the dead wax after the penultimate track on side B . The last track is a preview of the show and the stop was inserted to prevent DJs accidentally running the last 2 tracks into one another , so to continue playing the needle has to be lifted or cued over .The record is in "excellent "condition and comes in a plain white sleeve .
