Description
Solid VG French pressing of Afternoon in Paris, a much-sought-after 1958 session with John Lewis, Sacha Distel, and Barney Wilen that was originally released in France on Versailles and ultimately would appear a year later on Atlantic. Dark grey and gold deep groove labels. Ultrasonically cleaned using Klaudio system.
Vinyl: VG. I am grading the vinyl VG because of some cosmetic scratches, none of which have an impact on the sound of the vinyl. It actually sounds more like VG+ after I cleaned using Klaudio ultrasonic system. A tiny bit of background noise remains in quieter passages and there are a few pops along the way, but these never overtakes production which is strong and clear and vivid. See photos for details.
Cover: G. Front and back covers are clean and retain original gloss finish, but the edges have been taped with clear tape (to be fair, Versailles's covers were flimsy without a hard spine). There is also significant tear to the left edge Residue sticker from original record shop and owner's name and date (1961!) handwritten in pen on back. See photos for details.
LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
