Georg Solti & The Chicago - BEETHOVEN NINE SYMPHONIES - London (ffrr red labels) CSP-9 (of Decca 121 of the 9th) - 9LPs Box - VERY FINE!! - TAS - Factory Sealed
There are many, many Beethoven Nine boxed celebrations. No mistaking that. From Bohm, Toscanini, Steinberg, Walter…the list goes on and on and on.
But, of all of them, only two, that I know of, command a substantial lead in the "want" category of audiophiles.
They are the Karajan/Berlin and the Solti/Chicago, the Ninth of which has been recognized by TAS as one of the finest performances/recordings ever captured.
This offer features the full nine symphony boxed set from Solti, on ffrr UK London pressings, factory sealed.
Do note that indeed the shrink wrap has popped on the side and that this is a promo copy, the advantage of which might prove out as first pressings.
A gloriously monstrous set, of very powerful performances, recorded very, very well. Demo quality first note to last, and what I would pull from all repertory, when someone would enter my hi-fi shop asking for something "large."
