Description
This is the legendary George Solti recording of Wagner's complete 'Der Ring Des Nibelungen' Operas on London (the US branch of Decca) featuring the Vienna Philharmonic, Birgit Nilsson, Wolfgang Windgassen, Hans Hotter and a host of great post war Wagnerians. It includes the book Ring Resounding by John Culshaw (3rd printing 1971) in its original dust jack, which has minor nicks at the top and bottom spine (although the interior pages are crisp and the binding is tight) The record is in its original outer box, with the 19 discs divided into 4 boxed sets with their corresponding librettos. The external box has some minor shelf wear and on some corners ( particularly around the book) the black edging has dried and cracked, but overall the box is in excellent condition (see photos) The individual boxes and inserts are in excellent condition, exhibiting very minor shelf wear (see photos) The booklets are flat with tight binding and no creases. The discs appear to have barely been played (pressed in England) but I haven't listened to the set in its entirety, so I'll conservatively grade them as very good (though visually they look better) Please see the photos and email me with any questions.
