"SONGS ABOUT ELVIS". Rare compilation of tracks. Little known about this LP - it appears to be a UK version of US 8145. It was bought from a specialist shop in London in 1979. If you Google "Songs About Elvis US 8145" - there appears to be just one reference to this LP on the web but that has a different cover. The vinyl has the etchings 8145 A/B clearly visible. It's an oddball compilation which should appeal to fans. It includes "Dear Elvis" by Audrey, "Bye Bye Elvis" by Genee Harris and "I wanna spend Christmas with Elvis" by Marlena Paula. The cover is in very good condition - there is an ink "x" on the back sleeve by Genee Harris (see pictures). The vinyl on side 1 is very clean. There are some faint scratches on side 2. It has been hardly played since the early 1980s. It plays fine on my turntable but there is some background hiss on some tracks which I don't think has anything to with the condition of the vinyl but the original recordings. There is also one jump on track four side 2 - Little Lambsie Penn's "Wanna spend Xmas with Elvis" (don't know if this was on the recording - vinyl seems ok). This has to be the strangest record in my collection!
