I am selling some early and rather uncommon Beatles LPs as I continue to downsize my vinyl collection. So, please check my other auctions too.

In this auction:

·       “SONGS, PICTURES AND STORIES OF THE FABULOUS BEATLES” LP by The Beatles

·       This is Vee Jay Records VJLP 1092.

·       It was released in 1964.

·       This LP is a fancy repackaging of “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES”. Vee Jay did not press separate records for this album. Instead, factories placed “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” (VJ 1062) Version 2 discs into the album’s unique and colorful 2/3-cut gatefold cover.

·       “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES” (VJ 1062) Version 2 discs match the listing of tracks printed inside the 2/3-cut portion of the gatefold cover which include “Ask Me Why” and “Please, Please Me”.

·       As you probably know, Vee Jay, for a short period of time in 1963-1964, held the rights in the U.S. to a handful of Beatles songs that the record company recycled several times by selling the same LP in different covers. The buying public quickly realized that they were not acquiring any new Beatles’ material in each Vee Jay album they purchased. Instead, they were buying basically the same Beatles’ tunes “recycled” when they purchased “Introducing the Beatles”, “Songs, Pictures & Stories of the Fabulous Beatles” and “The Beatles vs The Four Seasons” (the Beatles’ disc in that 2-record set being  repackage of “Introducing the Beatles”).

·       The UNIQUE FEATURE of this Vee Jay LP is that the LEFT-SIDE FRONT FLAP OF THIS GATEFOLD COVER IS 2/3 THE SIZE OF THE RIGHT SIDE POCKET HOLDING THE RECORD.

·       BOTH COVER and VINYL are ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC!

1)    The cover is die-cut with the 2/3 gatefold.

2)   The labels have “THE BEATLES” above the spindle hole.

3)   The vinyl disc has “AUDIOMATRIX” lightly stamped in the 2 trail-off (dead wax).

So you can bid with confidence that you are receiving the real deal and not a counterfeit. 

·       The COVER is in STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. Front cover images are nice and clean and show very light (minimal) wear. The cover is quite clean overall with light to moderate wear. The spine has some wear at the top and bottom and there is some wear on the corners and edges. There is a 4-inch split on the top seam near the opening that has been repaired. The front cover’s 2/3 flap has some light wear at the bottom. On the primarily black rear cover, there is very light partial ring wear and a light scuff under John’s face near the spine.  The gatefold cover inside is NICE and CLEAN. There is a small repaired split on the inner spine inside the gatefold cover. Even with the blemishes I’ve mentioned (and maybe I’ve been too “anal” in describing), it’s still a nice-looking cover, mostly because there is minimal wear on the black areas of the front and rear covers. This LP was notorious in easily developing and showing wear on the black areas.

·       The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION with some very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”) and LOTS OF GLOSS!

·       The original Vee Jay Records paper inner sleeve is included. 

It’s a NICE UNCOMMON Vee Jay LP for your vinyl collection!
