Songs of Texas A & M 45 RPM Record Album
(Produced when A & M was a college; before it became a university)

Offered is a vintage 45 RPM record album that was produced before A & M had moved into a university status and was still a college. There are two (2) 45 RPM records in this album; record 1, side A, is The Twelfth Man performed by The Singing Cadets and The Aggieland Orchestra, record 1, side B, is The Spirit Of Aggieland performed by The Aggieland Orchestra. Record 2, side A, consists of two songs, the first is The Spirit Of Aggieland , and the second is Silver Taps, both of which are performed by the Texas Aggie Band; and record 2, side B, is The Aggie War Hymn, also performed by The Texas Aggie Band. I recently uncovered this at a house sale, so I don't know if the records play as I do not have a 45 RPM record player, but the records appear to be in tip-top condition and look like they would play as smoothly as a lullabye. The records are in much better condition than is the album which protects them. The album has various bumps and scratches, but I would expect this with as old as the album is.
One might ask just how old is the album. And I cannot answer this question as there are no dates on the album. But the Aggie Band was under the direction of Lt. Colonel E. V. Adams, a former member of the Band and a graduate of the College in the Class of 1929. And the Singing Cadets and the Aggieland Orchestra were both under the direction of W. M. (Bill) Turner. So if some resourceful person takes it upon himself/herself and goes and researches when these two gentlemen held their respective positions at Texas A & M College, then one would know the approximate age of the album. And we do know outright that the record album is pre-1963, making it at least 50 years old, as that is the date when Texas A & M College became Texas A & M University.
The A & M College seal shows up in a number of places: on the front cover of the album, inside the album, and on each side of both records. I have attempted to take sufficient pictures of both the album and the records in order that the viewer has reasonable expectations as to what is actually up for bidding.
