Genuine original 1940 shellac Moses Asch Recordings/Stinson (later to become Folkways Records) 78rpm -- 3 record set featuring Pete Seeger, Tom Glazer, Bess Lomax, Baldwin Hawes
The recordings contain lots of noise and scratches (they weren't purchased by the original buyer as collectibles) in keeping with an 82 year old shellac pressing.
The 33rpm Stinson version sometimes seen advertised is not the original 1940 authorized Asch recording. Those are plentiful as are re-mastered or digitized versions.
This is the real deal -- shellac, 78, has Asch Recordings banner on front cover.
These are extremely rare (I haven't seen more than a handful advertised anywhere in the world) and are both historical, musical and political archives of the era. Inherited this from the original purchase/owner.
