Double Vinyl set Made in the U.K. Numbered #1095 Not 1 (But 2) Record Label Vinyl are VG++: Record #1 has faint and minor surface-marks; minor "background-wear", ticks and clicks faintly heard between tracks and during some quiet passages. Record #1 looks and Plays VG++ or better Record #2 is VG++ to Mint-, mostly Mint- with a few, very faint and minor surface-marks and plays VG++ to Mint-, except the intro of D-1 has some pop/ticks that are VG+. Gatefold cover is VG+ with minor corner-bends and wear, cover-wear and blemishes, edge-wear and indentations. Custom inner-sleeve have intact seams and are VG++ or better. "Sonic Youth were one of the most unlikely success stories of underground American rock in the '80s. Where contemporaries R.E.M. and Hüsker Dü were fairly conventional in terms of song structure and melody, Sonic Youth began their career by abandoning any pretense of traditional rock & roll conventions. Borrowing heavily from the free-form noise experimentalism of the Velvet Underground and the Stooges, and melding it with a performance art aesthetic borrowed from the New York post-punk avant-garde, Sonic Youth redefined what noise meant within rock & roll.
