Description

Checker LP 1437, "Down and Out Blues" with Sonny Boy Williamson, guitar and vocals. This is a blue-label Chess LP inside a Checker cover (it was issued that way for a while). The vinyl plays at VG+ with light static noticeable mainly between tracks, as the music itself is overwhelming. Jacket has strong seams all around with some light seamwear - nothing much - at bottom. There is no ringwear, and the coroners are strong and square; the jacket back is considerably age-toned with some soiling (see scan). Songs are "Don't Start Me to Talkin'", "I Don't Know", "All My Love in Vain", "The Key", "Keep It to Yourself", "Dissatisfied", "Fattening Frogs for Snakes", "Wake Up Baby", "Your Funeral and My Trial", "99", "Cross My Heart", and "Let Me Explain". Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
