For sale here is a rare recording of Down and Out Blues by Sonny Boy Williamson in beautiful mono on Checker LP-1439 from the year 1959. As you know, this record is very hard to find any condition, and it is even harder to find in decent condition like this. Here is your chance to own a rare record with one of the coolest and most iconic blues record covers. The record itself is in VG+ condition and plays nicely with my Ortofon SPU pick up cartridge, using a 3 gram tracking force. The labels are "Blue CHESS" with silver print. "Sheldon" is stamped in the dead wax area. The cover is in VG condition. The seams are intact, but I would describe the corners as being "bruised". The backside of the cover has extensive foxing (brown spots from acid in the paper and and from storage). Overall, I would still consider both the record and the cover to be in very, very presentable condition. This would be a valuable addition to anyone's condition.
