All records are from my father’s collection (Jay Monroe Sr.) If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks for looking and be sure to check out my other listings. All Records are ORIGINAL PRESSINGS unless otherwise stated. Records are mailed in record specific boxes with cardboard and bubble wrap squares. Record Details and Description: This Trumpet by John Lee Curtis aka The Original Sonny Boy was recorded in Jackson , MS on March 12th 1951. A fire destroyed the master and only a few were pressed including this one. Sonny Boy re-recorded the 78 shortly after. There is a huge difference between the pre fire and post fire recordings. The labels are different, purple is the 1st and maroon is the post fire. A true collector piece!

GRADE: E (Trumpet was known for bad labels on the early 78’s. Not defects just poor quality, this one is no different but better than most I’ve seen. The record is beautiful and plays loud and clear)

NM/M- A grade I don’t usually use but I’m releasing some of my father’s “store stock” records through the holidays.
E+ (78) Plays like new, with very, very few signs of handling, such as tiny scuffs from being slipped in and out of jackets. There are store stock records in this collection which will be in description.
E (78) Still very shiny, near new looking, with minor signs of wear, a few inaudible scuffs and/or minor label imperfection as noted in description.

E- (78) Still shiny but without the lustre of a new record and/or more scuffs or a light scratch not affecting playback.
V+ (78) an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from
distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.
V (78) Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.
V- (78) Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.
G+ (78). Grey throughout but still serviceable. Music begins to sound muffled. Heavy scratches.
