Description

Sonny Clark - Sonny’s Crib 45 Rpm (Blue Note). Original 1st Press Ex. RVG 45.


A hard-to-find Jazz 45 by the legendary jazz pianist Sonny Clark, featuring John Coltrane on Tenor Sax, Donald Byrd on trumpet and Curtis Fuller on trombone. Paul Chambers on bass and Art Taylor on drums. This 45 single was okay-tested and is practically near mint to my ears but let’s say it is excellent or VG++


It is the original master take split up on side a and b. It fades out and back in for a smooth transition. A plain white paper sleeve is included.

There is no cardboard cover.


This is one of only two recordings where legendary saxophonist John Coltrane appeared on Blue Note as a sideman right before he recorded his own famous blue note LP, entitled Blue Train, now an iconic historical recording.


The vinyl is in excellent and exceptional condition with virtually no wear and no surface noise, and without any scratches or scuffs.


World renowned, audio engineer, Rudy Van Gelder, the RVG stamp on the run out wax along with the matrix numbers which read :

BN - 1692 a and b, respectively.
