Sonny Rollins – 3 Giants! (Prestige PR 7291) 1963 Pressing featuring Rudy Van Gelder (RVG) Mastering

At Blue Station Jazz, we provide "Reference Grade" audits on all our inventory. This copy is priced as a "Premium Player Copy"—offering high-fidelity sound with a jacket that has seen honest use.

The "Sikora/DS Audio" Audit: This record has been professionally verified on a J. Sikora Standard Max turntable with a DS Audio optical cartridge.

  • Play Grade: VG. Despite the jacket condition, the vinyl performs well.  Clifford Brown rings through nicely. Clicks and Pops, but plays through nicely. Audiophile sound grade on my system - B.

  •  Some light surface noise is present during quiet passages, but it never overpowers the performance.

  • Visual Grade: VG. Vinyl retains a strong gloss with some light surface marks.

  • Jacket Grade: G (Good). Note: Jacket Condition: Graded G (Good). The front-cover photography and back-cover liner notes remain clean and vibrant. However, please note significant edge wear: there is a full seam split on the spine, a 1.5-inch split on the bottom seam, two 1-inch splits on the top seam, and a crease on the right corner. This is an ideal candidate for a collector who uses high-quality outer sleeves to preserve the presentation.

  • Mastering: Features the authentic RVG machine stamp in the deadwax.
