Description

Sonny Rollins - A Night At The Village Vanguard Blue Note vinyl LP 1581 (1958).

A true first pressing:

- 47 W. 63rd label
- no "inc" no "r"
- deep grooves;  and
- the Plastylite "ear" and RVG in the deadwax.

Original jacket:  laminated with a blank spine and no address on the back.

Vinyl - Fair.  Many scratches, marks, and scuffs, plays with persistent background noise and pops.  HOWEVER, as this is one of Rudy Van Gelder's best-recorded albums, even among Blue Notes, it plays surprisingly well, more like a Good.  No skips, very loud sound.

Jacket - Good.  Overall wear, partial seam split at the top, worn corners, fading and staining on the back, former owner's name on the back, original price sticker on the front.  However, nice clear graphics on the cover

One of Sonny's all-timers, and a must-have for every shelf.  Very rare true first pressing.

With Elvin Jones, Wilbur Ware, Donald Bailey, and Pete La Roca.
