BLP 4001
Early 1960s USA mono pressing.

  • deep groove on both sides of the record.
  • New York USA label on side 1.
  • 47 West 63rd (no INC/R) label on side 2.
  • Plastylite pressing plant's 'ear' and 'RVG' stamps on both sides.
  • Front laminated cover with 43 West 61st St. NYC address on the back.
  • Blue Note inner sleeve from around 1962 (based on the the most recent albums pictured).

Record condition: visually EX / audibly VG+ to EX The record is in beautiful condition, full shine with just a few very soft surface lines. Labels are both pristine. Both sides play superbly for the most part, without underlying surface noise and just the odd, soft tick here and there. Only exception is the first track on side 2, which has some spots of clipping in the left channel. Nothing major, just a few split second occurrences. I give this track a VG+ play grade and the other five tracks an EX.
Cover condition: EX+  In truly fantastic condition. The front has the thick, glossy lamination characteristic of early 1960s Blue Notes, and this retains a beautiful, lustrous sheen. There are only a couple of small crease marks visible at the top right corner. The back is incredibly clean, just the very mildest of age toning at the edges. There are no seam splits or seam wear. All spine print is 100% intact. All corners are still sharp. 
Inner condition: VG+ The inner is also in nice clean condition, but does have splits of 2 cm on the bottom and 6 cm at one side. I will of course provide another plain inner for postage.
